Types of Finance Agreements

Hire Purchase
Hire Purchase (HP)

The most well-known Rolls-Royce finance option is through Hire Purchase.

This is where you hire the Rolls-Royce for the duration of the period that you are paying it off. Upon paying off the car, you will own the vehicle.

You pay for the Rolls-Royce in monthly instalments over a pre-agreed space of time. This could be months or years. Each monthly instalment will likely include a fixed interest rate and the interest rate is usually higher depending on your credit rating. Some finance options may come with a mileage limit however this is not the case with an HP finance contract.

Failure to make your payments on time will result in the repossession of the Rolls-Royce.

At Momentum Finance we are able to find the best deal for your unique circumstances.

Personal Contract Purchase (PCP)
Personal Contract Purchase (PCP)

Another extremely popular finance option is a PCP contract. This is similar to an HP purchase option, but once you reach the end of your finance contract, you have three options. You can choose to own the car by paying a final lump sum. Financers refer to this as a “balloon” payment. The amount of the balloon payment depends on the Minimum Guaranteed Future Value (MGFV) of the vehicle which you will agree upon at the start. Because a significant amount of the cost is deferred until the balloon payment, then the monthly instalments are usually cheaper than with an HP deal. The second option is to return the Rolls-Royce once the balloon payment is due, meaning you have just rented the vehicle and returned it. The third option would be to part exchange the Rolls-Royce and then get another Supercar under a new PCP contract.

These final two options would mean that you are renting the Rolls-Royce, and so a mileage limit will likely apply for the duration that you have the Rolls-Royce under hire. There may also be maintenance charges added to the contract.

Lease Purchase
Lease Purchase

A lease purchase option is to hire the Rolls-Royce, but the only option available for you is to own it at the end – like HP finance. The difference between the two is that you pay lower monthly instalments followed by a balloon payment at the end. This can be ideal if you intend to own the Supercar outright, but it is important to be prepared for the significant cost of the agreed balloon payment at the end of the Rolls-Royce finance contract.

Personal Contract Hire
Personal Contract Hire

With this deal, you agree to hire the Rolls-Royce and then return it with no option of owning it. There will be a mileage limit in place, but other than that there will be no additional limits or unexpected maintenance charges, as these will be included in the monthly instalments. While your monthly instalments may be higher, you will have free reign of the vehicle and be able to return it to the dealer once the period is done. This is ideal for those who may only need a Rolls-Royce for a set period of time.

Personal Loan
Personal Loan

A personal loan is the acquisition of money from a lender who is not directly affiliated with your vehicle. This would allow you to be able to purchase the vehicle outright with the lender’s money, and then pay them back over time on their variable fixed terms. With bad credit, this may be your best option to get the best interest rates for your personal circumstances. As the loan is not directly linked with the Rolls-Royce, the lender would not be able to repossess the vehicle but can take other forms of legal force. This could include retrieval of goods that are a sum of the cost owed.
